As schools prepare to reopen for the first term in the academic year of 2024, headteachers have been cautioned against reopening schools before the official date of February 5th, 2024, recommended by the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Speaking to reporters today, the Bushenyi District Inspector of Schools Michael Matigi noted that no school will be allowed to reopen for their first term before the official date of February 5th. He said that such schools that will reopen early before the official date, their licenses will be revoked.

Matigi also warned schools that want to operate with boarding sections illegally, not meeting the required standards will be closed.
