Parliament Speaker, Anita Among has urged Members of Parliament to lead tree planting campaigns in their constituencies as away of conserving the environment. The Speaker made these remarks while presiding over parliament session today, March 28th, 2024.

Among said Uganda as a country and the region at large have witnessed environmental and climatic changes occasioned by increased deforestation, swamp reclamation, pollution and among others. She therefore, emphasized the need for climate change mitigation through tree planting, responsible environment and natural resource use.

Speaker Among urged Members of Parliament of to lead tree planting campaigns in their constituencies as away of conserving the environment in order to avert the adverse effects of climate change like prolonged drought among other effects.
