Rubanda man murdered, three suspects arrested

Police in Rubanda District have arrested three suspects that include on allegations of murdering a 39 year old man.

The suspects including Justus Arinda, Arnold Twijukye, and Bright Kyarigabira are said to have murdered Joab Muhwezi, a resident of Kigazi cell, Kakore parish in Hamurwa sub-county, Rubanda district.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson says police received information from Kigazi cell Chairman, Pulikalipu Kalimunda that Muhwezi was murdered by unknown people. Maate asays Police visted the scene, the body was taken to Rubanda Hospital for postmortem before it was handed over to relatives for burial arrangements.

Maate says a panga containing blood was recovered from the home of one suspect, Arinda Justus, suspected to be the same panga they allegedly used to kill Muhwezi. The arrested suspects are currently detained at Rubanda Police Station as investigations continue.
