Two primary schools in Mitooma district have been summoned to appear before the Uganda National Examinations Board security tribunal over allegations of examination malpractice in the 2024 exams.
The schools in question are Bweibale Primary School in Mitooma Town Council and Katerera Primary School in Kanyabwanga Sub County, whose results were withheld due to suspicions of malpractice.
The district inspector of schools, Jane Tushabe revealed this information while releasing the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results for Mitooma district at a function held at Mitooma Central Primary School.
Tushabe noted that the schools will undergo the necessary procedures and if found guilty, the responsible individuals will face the law and be punished accordingly.
Mitooma district vice chairperson, Penelope Arinanye expressed concern that despite the district's efforts to perform well at all levels, some school heads are still engaging in cheating, putting learners at risk of repeating a year. Arinanye emphasized the need for school heads to be cautious and refrain from such practices.
