Two people, Parish Chief and SACCO Secretary in Rukungiri district have been arrested for allegedly extorting money from people promising to register them in Nyabiteete Parish Development Model-PDM SACCO in Buyanja Sub County.

Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen ordered the arrest of Nyabiteete Parish Chief, Ayebare Brenda and the Nyabiteete PDM Sacco secretary, Kobusingye Penelope who are being held at Buyanja Police Station as investigations continue.

The suspects are accused of extorting money amounting to Shs. 50,000 promising beneficiaries to speed up transaction processes in this SACCO.
