Police in Ibanda District are investigating a case of murder where a man was stabbed to death by his wife. The deceased has been identified as Gumisiriza Amos a resident of Rushambya cell in Ishongororo Sub County, Ibanda district who was allegdely stabbed to death by his wife Atuhaire Justin.

The incident occurred on July 30th, and according to reports, Atuhaire went to Saudi Arabia to work but while there she kept sending her money to the husband Gumisiriza Amos for development purposes however when she returned from Saudi Arabia, she found out that the husband had used the money to marry another woman which angered her.

Residents say the wife was angered and got a knife, stabbed the husband in the neck with leading to his death. The wife was also grabbed by locals as she tried run away from the scene, beat her up and was rescued by Police on receiving information. Atuhaire was rushed to Ishongororo HC IV for treatment but was later pronounced dead shortly after.

Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson says both bodies were taken to Ishongororo HC IV pending post-mortem and Police have not made any arrests of those involved in the mob action but inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
