Police in Mbarara City are investigating a case of suicide that happened at Skylight hotel the night of February 6th, 2024. The deceased Cosmas Nuwaheereza, 25 who was a staff member at the hotel, jumped from the third floor of this building hotel and died instantly. He did not leave any suicide note that could help police in ascertaining the motive behind his action.

Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson, Samson Kasasira confirmed to the incident noting that as police, they have  started tracing the family and background of the deceased to get more details on what exactly might have forced him to commit suicide.

The director of Sky light Hotel Mark Sonko says the deceased had just returned from home and it is expected that there could have been some disagreements back at home that forced him to commite suicide.

The deceased's body was taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
