Police in Kamuli District have in custody a 43-year-old man on allegations of defiling a 13-year-old girl.

The suspect has been identified as Jingo Muhammad a prominent businessman and farmer in Mbulamuti Town Council, Kamuli District. Investigations indicate that the suspect lured the victim into sexual intercourse, gave her Shs. 10,000 when her mother was away in Kampala.

According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga who was addressing journalists at police headquarters in Naguru Kampala, the mother of the victim returned home found her with Shs. 10,000, upon asking her where she got the money from, the victim narrated that Muhammad had sex with her and gave it to her. 

Enanga said that the girl informed her mother that Mahammad has been having sex with her and later giving her tablets to take so as not to be pregnant. The suspect is currently detained at Kamuli Police Station as investigations continue.
