Police in Kazo district are holding 5 people for refusing to be counted in the ongoing national population census in the country.
The suspects are from Nkungu Sub-County in Kazo District who according to security personnel in Kazo refused to be counted saying that counting them with their property is against God's commandments.
Kazo District Deputy Resident Commissioner, RDC Tumukurate Silverster says the 5 suspects declined to give out information to enumerators saying that their religion (Nyanga Akeibo) does not permit them to be counted because according to them, that is against the commandments of God.
Tumukurate says the arrested ones (withheld) are now detained at Kazo Central Police Station as investigations continue. Kazo District LCV Chairman, Rev. Samuel Mugisha katugunda,urged enumerators to work tirelessly to end this exercise successfully since more 6 days were added and the exercise will now end on May 25th.
