Police in Buhweju district are holding a man on allegations of murdering his 68 year old mother over land wrangles.

The suspect Kakuru Innocent is said to have killed his mother, Katayomba Fridah, 68,a resident of Ekinoni village, Rugongo Parish, Karungu Sub-County, Buhweju District. 

Greater Bushenyi Region Police Spokesperson, Martial Tumusiime, confirmed the incident saying on Thursday, September 28, another son of the deceased, Mugasha Moses came to check on his mother (Deceased) from her house as she was sick, he found the door open and after entering, he found her mother after being cut to death, her body lying in a pool of blood on her bed.

This prompted Mugasha to make an alarm which attracted neighbours who later informed the police. Buhweju Police visited the scene, took the body to Nsiika Health Center IV for Postmortem. Police arrested the suspect Kakuru as investigations were alleging that he might have killed his mother because of land wrangles he had with his mother. Investigations into the matter have commenced.
