Police in Bushenyi District are investigating circumstances under which a man committed suicide by hanging himself in a lodge.

The incident happened in the night of June 19th at Planet Bar and Lodges in Kigoma Trading Center, kizinda Kigoma Town Council in Bushenyi district according to Greater Bushenyi Region Police Spokesperson, Martial Tumusiime.

Tumusiime says on June 19th, a man who identified himself as Amon Amwesigye went to Planet Bar and Lodges to drink, later requested for accommodation and was given Room 1 by Kyosimire Moureen, the lodge attendant. 

Tumusiime said that the deceased requested for the padlock so that he could lock the door from inside but Kyosimire refused. In the next morning, Alinda Anita, the bar owner while on inspection work, she discovered Amwesigye's lifeless body hanging on a rope in the same room.

Alinda reported matter to police and Tumusiime said Police took the deceased's body to Kitagata Hospital for further examination as investigations continue.
