North Ankole Bishop appreciated for development projects
Bishop’s Girls’ School in Rushere town council, Kiruhura district are preparing to build a school multi-purpose hall following the ground breaking function.
The ground breaking function that took place at the school premises, yesterday April 8th, was presided over by Charlotte Keinerugaba, the wife to the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Keinerugaba. This follows a fundraising dinner she led which raised Ugx 555,150,000.
The North Ankole Diocese Bishop, Rt. Rev. Stephen Namanya applauded government and people who are contributing their money toward the building of this hall. Over 950 million shillings is required to build this hall and the purpose of this hall will be helping students in performing different school activities including community hours, conferences among others. The Bishop showed gratitude over the family of the Late Yoweri Rutamwebwa for taking the initiative to lead the fundraising function where money amounting to over 500M has been collected.
Hon Mary Mugyenyi the Chairperson Board of Directors for this school also revealed that the project aims at supporting girl children to improve their quality education.
Naomi Nasasira, the Executive Director, Capacity Services Limited, also said the girl- child education is necessary but denotes that boy child should not be neglected.
Charlotte Keinerugaba, the Chief Guest pledged to continue supporting this school as away of paving ways for the girl child education. she also rallied students for good behavior and hard work.
