Charges against Gen Kale Kayihura dropped
General Court Martial has dropped all charges against the former Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura.
Gen Court Martial presided over by it's Chairman Brig Gen Freeman Mugabe, decided to drop all charges against Gen Kayihura who appeared in this court today in Makindye-Kampala. The charges including failing to protect war materials, aiding in repatriating Rwandan exiles from Uganda to Rwanda among other charges were filed against Gen Kayihura in 2018, a year after he had stepped down as police Boss.
General Court Martial Chairman, Brig Gen Freeman Mugabe said the state decided to withdraw all these charges from Gen Kayihura noting that he was now a free man. Speaking to jounalists shortly after court sitting, Gen Kayihura expressed graditude after the court martial dropping these charges against him.
