The National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate, Janet Adongo Rose Elau for the Dokolo District Woman MP by-election.
The exercise of nominating NRM's candidate,Adongo Rose was conducted by the Independent Electoral Commission Returning Officer for Dokolo District, Ngobi Stephen Erikwaine at the Electoral Commission offices in Dokolo.
The seat for Dokolo District Woman MP fell vacant after the death of Hon Cecelia Ogwal on January 18th, 2024 who died of Cancer in an Indian Hospital, the late was representing women of Dokolo district in Parliament on FDC ticket after crossing from UPC.
NRM's Adongo on her nomination was accompanied by the NRM director of Mobilisation, Hon.Rosemary Seninde, Dr.Samuel Eyenga, the Senior Manager of Mobilisation and other NRM district leaders. Addressing the media shortly after her Nomination, Adongo pledged to work together with the people of Dokolo to ensure social economic transformation.
The other nominated candidates include, FDC's Dr Rosemary Alwoch, the daughter to late Cecelia Ogwal, UPC's Sarah Aguti. The nominated candidates will have their campaigns from March 13th - March 19th, and voting is slated for 21st March, 2024.
