Hoima LCV Chairperson seat, five nominated
Five people have been nominated to contest for the Hoima District LCV Chairperson seat.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Kadir Kirungi, the former LCV Chairperson who died in an accident that happened in March, this year.
Kirungi, along with his bodyguard, was involved in a collision with a Fuso truck along the Hoima-Kampala Road in Mataagi village, Bukomero town council, Kiboga district in March this year.
Following his Kirungi's death, Hoima District Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) notified the Electoral Commission about the vacancy and the Electoral Commission released the roadmap of this by election. According to the roadmap, interested candiates were nomintated on 30th-31st August,2023 at Kitoba Sub-County headquarters, Hoima District, and was presided over by Hoima District Returning Officer, Ms. Merab Kasande.
The nominated candiates are Uthman Kadir Mugisa (NRM), Patrick Musinguzi (FDC), Moses Aguda (NUP), Vincent Muhumuza Savana (independent) and Mugume Lennox (Independent). The nominated candidates will commence the campaigns from September 1st to September 12th and the polling date will be on Thursday, September 14th, 2023.
