Speaking in parliament yesterday, Hon Mugumya revealed that the rains characterized by hailstorms destroyed over 18 residential houses and hectares of gardens in the area, destroyed churches like Kagaaga Catholic Church, Kagaaga Pentecostal Church and Burungamo Pentecostal Church.
The legislator urged the office of Prime Minister to help the affected people by providing them with first maturing seeds, building materials like iron sheets among other assistance.
While responding to the matter representing the Government Chief whip, Ruth Nankabirwa, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development pledged to work hand in hand with the office of Prime Minister to make sure that the relief aid is sent to the affected people in Isingiro district as soon as possible.
