Buhweju County MP, Hon Francis Mwijukye has been referred to Nairobi Hospital in Kenya for further treatment after his condition worsened.

Mwijukye has been admitted at Nakasero Hospital after being assaulted by assailants at Rwanyamabare Catholic Church in Buhweju on May 13th, over land wrangles.

The legislator had gone to listen to concerns from Christians of Rwanyamabare Catholic Church in Buhweju District, where he had gone to listen to complaints regarding the alleged grabbing of church land. In this process of assault, other 7 people were also injured.

Hon Mwijukye was first admitted at Devine Mercy Hospital in Mbarara City, he was transferred to Nakasero Hospital for treatment. According to sources from the close friends of Hon Mwijukye, the legislator has been further referred to Nairobi Hospital in Kenya for further management and treatment. after his condition worsened.
