President Museveni commends former Namibian president over developmental matters
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of the republic of Uganda has applauded the former Namibian president now the late, Hage Geingob for having worked together with people of Namibia in terms of development matters. The late Geingob died yesterday, February, 4th, 2024 from cancer in a hospital in the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek and he died at the age of 82.
In his condolence message he wrote on his X platform, president Museveni said he first heard of Hage Geingob in 1970s when he became the head of the Namibian Institute in Lusaka. According to President Museveni, some Ugandans, such as Joan Kategaya, worked there during the time many of them were exiles, running away from the terror of Idi Amin. He said Namibian Institute was training Namibians in exile so that they could be able to run their country after independence.
On behalf of the NRM Government and People of Uganda, President Museveni has commended the late Hage Geingob for his contributions that led to freedom of Namibia and Africa in general.
