Isingiro District Chairman has raised a red flag on wetland encroachment saying culprits will be arrested.

People with in this district have continued to encroach wetlands while carrying out different human activities such as cultivation and among others.

The district Chairman, Aaron Turahi said encroachers have invaded wetlands warning this will result in harsh climatic changes. He said as district authorities they are going to embark on serious operations to arrest every individual who is still using wetlands for different activities.

Turahi said this effort is aimed at restoring the depleted water catchment areas.
