Kazo District Schools reopen in large numbers
There was a high turn up of pupils and students in most schools in Kazo District today as schools countrywide reopened for the first term. Today, schools across the country have reopened for their first term for the academic year calendar year of 2024. KC News reporters visited some schools in Kazo Town Council, kazo district and observed that a big number of learners reported.
Kazo Modern High School and kazo Model Primary School, Students and Pupils have reported in large numbers and teachers were already at schools to commence studies. Head teacher Kazo Model Primary School, Sam Kandiho told reporters that they have received a large number of pupils than expected. He said all teachers have already reached at school ready to teach and urged parents whose children haven't reported yet to bring their children to school for early learning.
Katureebe Godfrey who is the Head teacher Modern High School urged parents and guardians to bring students at school since they have already commenced with teaching.
School headteacher in Kazo District have said they are now facing a challenge of most leaners reporting with no school fees since parents say they have no money yet as they are facing economic hardships from the quarantine instituted to curb the spread of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD).
Kazo District Education Officer (DEO) Agume Robert Rwabwiizi said he visited some schools in the district and found out the turn up of learners was amazing and he urged parents and guardians to make sure their children report early so that they start studies early with those learners that have already reported.
