Foot and Mouth disease reported in Kiruhura
Kiruhura District Authorities have closed some livestock markets to avoid the spread of Foot and Mouth Disease within the district.
Some of the livestock markets that were closed include Kyeibuza, Kyenshama, Nyakasharara,they were closed in away of controlling the spread of this disease and this was revealed yesterday in FMD Kiruhura District Task Force meeting led the Resident District Commissioner ,RDC Bakunda George that was held at the district head quarters.
Other leaders who were present in this meeting are sub county chairpersons, veterinary doctor, Members of parliament. Kiruhura District Veterinary Officer, Dr. Asiimwe Grace said they decided to close livestock markets of Kyeibuza, Kyenshama, Nyakasharara so that they can control the spread of this disease. Some of the sub counties with this disease include Kinoni, Rwetamu, Sanga.
