Mbarara district authorities are stranded after failing to trace over 20 land titles from its inventory.

Mbarara district leaders have raised the alarm over missing certificates of land titles for 20 plots of land owned by the district. Mbarara District Chief Administrative Officer, David Muhwezi explains that out of the 37 plots which the District has got, 20 plots are now missing.  

Mbarara district Resident District Commissioner Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi accuses the former District Chief Administrative Officer, Edward Kasagara for failing to take care of these land titles and instead presenting photocopies of the missing certificates of land titles during his handover in July, this year.

The District LCV Chairperson, Didas tabaro cautioned the residents not to encroach the district land noting that whoever is caught will  be takento couts of law. The Mbarara District inventory indicates that the property whose land titles went missing include the land housing the current Mbarara District offices in Kamukuzi.
