Police in Mitooma District are holding 2 parents for assaulting their daughter to death. The suspects are Herbert Twinamatsiko, 33, and his wife Phionah Natukunda, 30, all residents of Kyanzire village Kyanzire Parish, Kashenshero town council in Mitooma District.

Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson Martial Tumusiime confirmed the incident noting that the two suspects were arrested for allegedly killing their daughter only identified as Whitney, the incident that happened on 27th, July.

It is alleged that Twinamatsiko brought his daughter Whitney he had produced outside wedlock, he brought the child to stay with his wife ( the stepmother of the child). It is said that on the same day of 27th, July, the two suspects assaulted the child to death later transported the body to Rwenshama B in Kanyabwanga Sub County for burial.

Police said they were tipped off by some residents about the incident, police came arrested the two parents and the body of the child was found with fresh physical injuries resulted from the assault. Investigations into the matter have commenced.
