Police says National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine has been successfully taken to his home in Magere, Wakiso district.
Kyagulanyi, who arrived at Entebbe International Airport at around 10:20 a.m. aboard a Rwanda Air flight was whisked by security personnel as soon as he got out of the plane. Reports had indicated that the former presidential candidate was arrested, taken to unknown destination however, police refuted those reports.
Speaking to journalists on this matter, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango confirmed that NUP President, Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert was successfully escorted by security team from Entebbe to his home in Magere, Kasangati. He applauded security agencies for their efforts in maintaining the safety.
When asked to comment on this issue in Parliament, Prime Minister Robina Nabbanja told members of parliament that National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi was simply offered free transport and security to his home, in order to avoid the disruption of businesses along Kampala-Entebbe road.
