New Bishop installed in North Ankole Diocese
Christians in Ankole North Diocese welcomed their new bishop, Rt Rev. Alfred Muhoozi who is now the third Bishop of this Diocese.
The function to consecrate and install Bishop Muhoozi was held at the Diocese headquarters, Emmanuel Cathedral Rushere in Rushere Town Council in Kiruhura District. The function was graced by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu who led the consecration and installation of Bishop Muhoozi. The Chief Guest, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was represented by Vice President Jesca Alupo.
Bishop Muhoozi took office from the retiring Bishop, Rt Rev. Stephen Namanya, who took office in 2015 from the then Bishop John Muhanguzi. Archbishop Kazimba requested people in this Diocese to work with the new Bishop for the development of the Diocese and urged the new Bishop to work together with Emeritus Bishops.
In his message that was read by Vice President Jesca Alupo, President Museveni welcomed the new Bishop,urged him to promote unity among people and spread the gospel of development in the North Ankole Diocese. Bishop Muhoozi thanked everyone who prayed for this function to happen, applauded the retiring Bishop Rt RevNamanya for having built a big stone in developing the Diocese in terms of Education matters, Health matters.
Bishop Muhoozi aged 51 is married to Molly Muhoozi and they have four children with two grandchildren.
