The in charge CID at Namusita police post in Buyende District, D/IP Balikowa Godfrey has been dismissed from Police force on allegations of raping a 30-yr-old woman from Kalambo in Ndolwe sub-county who had gone to report a case of domestic violence, against her husband called Odere Ronald.
In a statement he released today, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga indicated that the incident happened on 12.10.2023 at around 11am. Enanga said a team of 3 police officers from Buyende district went to the victim's home to arrest her husband, but they did not find him at home, she feared to return to her home until when the husband is arrested.
It is said that the suspect (Balikowa) asked the victim to be with him, since he had found a place for her to sleep. He instead drove her to his home in Nakabira police barracks, bought her food and drinks, and afterwards sexually assaulted her, and in the morning, he dropped the victim near Namusita police post and promised to arrest her husband. The victim’s husband Odere Ronald was arrested, he paid for his wife’s treatment, whom she had assaulted.
Enanga says the victim later reported her second case of rape at the region and the suspect was arrested. The suspect Balikowa who has been dismissed from Police Force will be arraigned in court for Rape.
