Police in Buhweju district are hunting for their own over shooting a 23 year old man dead while attempting to arrest a suspect. 

Corporal Taremwa Gracious attached to Burere Police Post allegedly shot and killed Bitahwa Osbert, a resident of Rwajere Central in Burere Sub County, Buhweju District.

The incident happened yesterday in Rwajere Central in Burere Sub County and residents say the policeman was trying to arrest a one Katureebe, 25, who is accused of failing to pay a debt of Shs. 500,000 to Global Tea Factory. Katureeb is said to resisted arrest prompting Corporal Taremwa to fire a bullet in away of scaring him and the bullet shot Bitahwa who was on his way to his tea garden killing him instantly. 

By press time, Corporal Taremwa and Katureebe escaped however, police officers were still hunting for both suspects.
