President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pardoned 200 prisoners.

According to the Public Relations Officer Uganda Prisons Frank Baine, the president pardoned 200 prisoners on public health and humaniritan grounds in an instrument of pardon dated 20th August, 2023.

Amongthepardoned prisoners is the former Permanent Secretary of Public Services, Jimmy Lwamafa who was serving a 7 and 9 year jail terms in two related corruption scandals.
