Police in Kazo District are investigating circumstances under which the body of a primary school headteacher was found drowned in a dam. 

The deceased, Sabiiti Wellen has been a resident of  Kaaro village, Kyengando Parish, Engari Sub-county in Kazo District and has been serving as the head teacher at Kiguma Primary School in Burunga Sub-county, Kazo District. Accrording to the father of the deceased Godfery Mugisha Bigirwenda, Sabiiti came from school on Thursday (September 21st) with a mission of attending a fundraising function that was scheduled to happen on Saturday, 23rd September 2023 and he was in good harmony hence could not guess the cause of the matter.

Kazo District Police Commander (DPC) Mukasa Philip confirmed the incident noting that preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was murdered and his body was dumped in a dam. Police retrieved the body, took it to Ruhoko Health Centre IV for Postmortem examination as investigations into the matter continue.
