Police in Rwampara district have in custody a one Richard Mucunguzi for aggravated torture and death of his 18 year old son, Davis Besisira.

The suspect who has been staying with his wife and son at Bushenyi cell, Nyakabare Parish, Rugando Sub County in Rwampara district is accused of torturing his son for misplacing shs.640.000 meant for school fees.

According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Regional Police Spokesperson, on September 9th 2023 the deceased was given Shs.640.000 to pay school fees which he misplaced and thus thought hiding at her aunt's place where he was later retrieved by his father who tortured him.

Kasasira further revealed that the deceased was later rescued by the area councilor and was taken back to school where his conditions deteriorated and was thus rushed to Kinoni Health Centre IV where he was pronounced dead.

The body of the deceased by press time was conveyed to Mbarara regional referral hospital for a postmortem report as investigations continue.
