Rwanda's President, Paul Kagame who is also the candidate for the ruling Rwandan Patriotic Front party in the upcoming presidential elections, has officially submitted his candidature to the National Electoral Commission (NEC).

President Kagame was accompanied by the First Lady Jeannette Kagame, leaders of Rwandan Patriotic Front party while he was submitting his candidature at the headquarters of NEC in Kiyovu, Nyarugenge District.

The President submitting his candidature means he is seeking a re-election in the upcoming general elections on July 15th, 2024. According to sources in Rwanda, no other presidential aspirant has submitted their candidature yet.
