Rwenzori Diocese to lead Uganda Martyrs celebrations
East Rwenzori Diocese needs Shs 50M to participate in the incoming Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations that will take place on 3rd June at Anglican shrine in Namugongo Kampala.
The Ugansa Martyrs celebrations for this year 2024 which will be led by six dioceses in Midwestern Uganda that includes dioceses of Rwenzori, South Rwenzori, East Rwenzori, West Rwenzori, Bunyoro-Kitara, and Masindi-Kitara and will each contribute the same amount.
Speaking to Christians at St Banarbas Nkoma-Archdeaconary on Sunday April 21st, the East Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop Rt Rev George K Turyasingura disclosed the development.
He said President has already pledged Shs.1.5Bn as part of the money that will be used to celebrate this day. The total amount required for the function is Shs.2.5Bn.
