Fire guts Masaka School
Police in Masaka City is investigating a fire outbreak at Kasaana Junior School in Nyendo-Mukungwe division, Masaka Citywhere two pupils lost their lives. The fire which started at 4am this morning, burnt the boys dormitory that accommodated 15 pupils of Top and P.1 classes.
Two Pupils that lost their lives are Aloysius Ahebwa and Malik Katende while 11 other pupils have been injured in this fire and they include Arnold Tumwesige, Jordan Ssendagire, Austin Kisembo, the school matron Christine Adong among others.
Acting Greater Masaka Police spokesperson, Jamada Wandera has conformed the incident saying that the injured pupils were rushed to different hospitals including Masaka Regional Referral Hospital for treatment and authorities are now investigating to ascertain the cause of this fire.
