Police in Kazo hunt for man who abandoned two daughters
Police in Kazo District
under the Family and Children Protection Unit are searching for a man who
abandoned his two daughters at work and disappeared.
It is reported that
Karyabaterana Fred arrived in the home of Ninsiima George in Kategyeto – Kijuma
in Rwemikoma Sub County, Kazo District with his two daughters, aged 3 and 4,
accompanied by an identification letter from Bwamuramira LC1 in Bwamuramira Parish,
Kinuka Sub County in Lyantonde District.
He worked at the farm for less than
4 days before disappearing, leaving his children behind. Ninsiima George, the
manager of the farm where the children were abandoned stated that Karyabaterana
Fred had come seeking work in the plantation.
Ninsiima says he wanted to
take him (Karyabaterana) to Chairman LCI to introduce him, however he vanished
without a trace, leaving his two daughters and the identification letter
behind.
The officer in charge of the
Family and Children Protection Unit, Bampabwire Charles Kitiribita confirmed
the incident noting that they are now hunting for the missing man. Bampabwire
Charles condemned the local council chairpersons for issuing identification
documents without thoroughly vetting individuals’ backgrounds.
